Venetian Scholar Raima Aueskhan Delivered an Open Lecture at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.
On October 20–21, 2025, the Department of Turkology and Language Theory at the Faculty of Philology, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, hosted a series of open lectures by Dr. Raima Aueskhan, PhD from Ca’ Foscari University of Venice (Italy).

The scholar presented two insightful topics:
- “Marco Polo as World Cultural Heritage in Kazakhstan: Translating Il Milione into Kazakh Language”;
- “The Kazakh Language in Mongolia: Present Status.”
The lectures attracted students, master’s and doctoral candidates specializing in Turkology and Linguistics. Participants engaged in open discussions with the lecturer on topics such as sociolinguistics, ethnolinguistics, linguistic policy, language planning, and cultural linguistics.
The sessions proved particularly valuable for early-stage doctoral researchers, offering both theoretical depth and practical guidance. Dr. Aueskhan expressed her willingness to continue collaboration with Al-Farabi KazNU and to support young scholars in their academic pursuits.
Such international academic cooperation broadens the horizons of Turkological studies and inspires the next generation of researchers.
