Joint Educational Event on “17 Sustainable Development Goals”
On October 22, 2025, PhD Aigul Alpysbayeva, Senior Researcher of the Department of Foreign Philology and Translation Studies, Faculty of Philology, together with the 4th-year students majoring in “Translation Studies” and the students of the Faculty of World Languages, Department of Oriental Philology and Translation of Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University, organized a joint educational event on the topic: “17 Sustainable Development Goals.”

The event opened with a welcoming speech by the Dean of the Faculty of World Languages, PhD E.T. Ospanov, who emphasized the importance of such collaborative activities.
The joint session was attended by Professor Svetlana Ashimkhanova of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, lecturer Maral Sultanbekovna Rakhimova, Head of the Department of Oriental Philology and Translation, PhD, Associate Professor K.Kh. Abdrakhmanova, Doctor of Philology, Professor A.K. Zhumabekova, Candidate of Philology, Senior Lecturer N.R. Shengelbayeva, Senior Lecturer K.T. Duisenova, and 4th-year students of the program “6B02302 – Translation Studies.”

During the open educational hour, participants engaged in discussions and interactive activities in English, including dialogues, opinion exchanges, crosswords, and quiz questions focused on the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
This event encouraged students to deepen their awareness of the 17 key areas of sustainable development outlined for implementation by 2030, emphasizing how these goals relate to global issues that affect every individual.
Additionally, discussions touched upon the importance of international cooperation in addressing global challenges such as climate change, war, hunger, and environmental protection.
