SDG № 4, 10: «Zhiger Festival Brings Together People with Special Needs and Students»
On October 30, 2025, the “Zhiger” sports festival for people with special needs was held at the Sadu Arena sports complex in Almaty. The main goal of the event was to promote inclusion, encourage people with disabilities to take part in sports, and inspire a positive and active lifestyle.
Students from Al-Farabi Kazakh National University (KazNU) also took part in the festival. They volunteered to help organize the event, supported the participants, and some even joined the competitions themselves. Their presence added warmth and enthusiasm to the atmosphere.
The tournament featured several types of sports, including chess, checkers, football, and swimming. Each competition was filled with excitement, sportsmanship, and mutual respect. Participants demonstrated strength, perseverance, and an incredible will to succeed.
At the end of the festival, winners and active participants were awarded with certificates and prizes. The event created an atmosphere of kindness, friendship, and unity, reminding everyone that true strength lies in the human spirit.
The “Zhiger” Festival was more than just a sports event — it was a celebration of courage, inclusion, and humanity. Such events show that sports can unite people of all abilities and inspire society to be more caring and understanding.
