As part of the implementation of the practice-oriented approach to student training at the Faculty of Law of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University and in accordance with UN Sustainable Development Goal No. 4 “Quality Education”, the Department of Criminal Law, Criminal Procedure, and Criminology continues to actively introduce innovative forms of educational activities. One such form is the organization of field-based practical classes in specialized training centers and institutions.

On October 8, 2025, the department’s lecturer Zh.T. Khudaibergenov conducted a field lesson in the discipline “Forensics” at the Special Training Center of the Republic of Kazakhstan, located in the village of Dolan, Karasai district, Almaty region.

The topic of the session was “Rules and Instructions for the Use of Forensic Ballistics, Cold Weapons, and Explosive Devices.” During the lesson, students learned the fundamental concepts of forensic ballistics, studied the classification and structural features of firearms and ammunition, and explored methods of detecting, recording, and examining traces left by firearms.

The practical part of the session was held using the material and technical resources of the training center. Students practiced safe handling of weapons, used forensic tools and models, and studied procedures for evidence collection and documentation.

“Such sessions enable students to integrate theoretical knowledge with practical skills, understand the specific application of forensic methods, and prepare for professional service in law enforcement agencies,” — noted Zh.T. Khudaibergenov.

The Department of Criminal Law, Criminal Procedure, and Criminology of the Faculty of Law at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University is committed to training highly qualified professionals capable of effectively applying their knowledge and skills in the field of law enforcement and the maintenance of public order.
