SDG 15 – Life on Land – Open educational event on the topic of «Environmental Culture and Environmental Awareness».
On 15 October, an open educational event was held for first-year students as part of Sustainable Development Goal 15 (SDG) – ‘Preserving terrestrial ecosystems’ on the topic of ‘Ecological culture and environmental awareness’.
The purpose of the event was to:
- develop students' ecological culture and environmental responsibility;
- develop environmental awareness through understanding the relationship between nature and society;
- promote the principles of sustainable development and conservation of terrestrial ecosystems;
- educate future specialists with ecological thinking and a responsible attitude towards the environment.
In today's world, the environmental situation is not only a problem for nature, but also a global factor that determines the future of humanity. The 21st century can rightly be called the century of ecological civilisation. Therefore, it is extremely important for modern educated, cultured and responsible people to understand the importance of environmental culture and environmental awareness.
Ecological culture and ecological awareness are not just concepts, but a philosophy of human existence. The realisation that humans are not the masters of nature, but an integral part of it, paves the way for sustainable development. Protecting nature is our duty to future generations. Each of us must demonstrate environmentally responsible behaviour through our actions and deeds.
