SDG 8 Decent Work and Economic Growth

Excursion of Groups 308, 304, and 129 PC to the Medeu District Police Department of the Almaty Police Department

On  November 28, 2025, students of groups 304, 308, and 129 PC of the Faculty of Law at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University visited the Medeu District Police Department of Almaty as part of SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth).

During the visit, the students became acquainted with the activities of the Operational and Criminalistics Division, the Duty Unit, the Investigation Department, and the Precinct Inspectors Division. The department’s officers provided detailed information about the functions of these divisions, the specifics of their service, and their interaction with the public.

In addition, the students were informed about the main requirements of legality and service discipline, the observance of which is an essential condition for the effective and lawful performance of police duties.

The excursion allowed future lawyers to gain first-hand insight into the practical aspects of the work of internal affairs bodies, understand the specifics of the profession, and appreciate the importance of law enforcement activities in ensuring public safety.

The event was accompanied by Roza Yergaliyevna Sagalbayeva, Assistant Professor of the Department of Theory and History of State and Law, Constitutional and Administrative Law of the Faculty of Law at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, which helped strengthen the connection between students’ theoretical knowledge and the practical activities of law enforcement agencies.
