Environmental Initiatives at the Conference

The UNESCO Chair and the Department of Recreational Geography and Tourism, together with partners including the Almaty State Nature Reserve, the NGO "Zher Dostary," the German partner NETSCI (Professor M. Kramer), and professors from the Dresden University of Technology (Karl-Heinz Feger and Dr. Ulrich Pietzarka), held a pine tree planting event at School-Gymnasium No. 25 in Talgar and delivered a lecture on protecting ecosystems and the planet to the residents of Talgar. Students and teachers also had the opportunity to speak with scientists and industry representatives and have their questions answered. Many were pleased and demonstrated their interest in environmental protection.

On behalf of the Department of Recreational Geography and Tourism, the pine trees were planted by Dean of the Faculty Aliya Sagyndykovna Aktymbaeva and doctoral student of the department Ilan Kuanyshkyzy Satkali. Such kinds of initiatives help make our planet greener and fill the day with special meaning.
