A field trip to the Almaty State Nature Reserve as part of the conference "PROBLEMS AND PROSPECTS FOR CONSERVING BIODIVERSITY IN CENTRAL ASIA" in Almaty, November 6-8, 2025
On the second day of the International Conference on Biodiversity Conservation, a field trip to the Almaty State Nature Reserve took place.
Conference participants, including representatives of the UNESCO Chair in sustainable development, the Department of Recreational Geography and Tourism, the Almaty State Nature Reserve, the NGO "Zher Dostary," German partners from NETSCI, and guests from Central Asia, visited the reserve's museum and learned about the region's rich biodiversity.
Following the tour, participants hiked along the reserve's ecological trail, where they observed various plant species, berries, and elements of natural ecosystems. This format demonstrated the importance of protecting natural areas and respecting biodiversity.
The event was an important step in strengthening international ties between partners and opened up new opportunities for future joint scientific and educational projects.
