Visit of the Zhejiang Tourism Association Delegation to the Faculty of Geography and Environmental Management, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University

On November 6, 2025, the Faculty of Geography and Environmental Management of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University hosted a delegation from the Zhejiang Tourism Association (China) as part of efforts to strengthen international cooperation in tourism and cultural exchange.

During the meeting, the guests were presented with an overview of the faculty’s academic, research, and international activities, highlighting key research areas, modern educational programs, and joint initiatives with foreign partners.

The delegation paid particular attention to the work of the Department of Recreational Geography and Tourism, where innovative approaches are being implemented in the training of specialists in sustainable tourism, territorial branding, and the management of recreational systems.

The guests were also shown a smart application developed by the department’s researchers, designed to visualize tourist routes and attractions in Kazakhstan. This tool contributes to the promotion of domestic and international tourism, as well as the popularization of the country’s cultural and natural heritage.

The visit was conducted within the framework of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 4, 8, and 17, aimed at ensuring quality education, promoting sustainable economic growth, and fostering international partnerships.
