SDG 16: Cybersecurity Culture Strengthened at Al-Farabi KazNU

An informational meeting dedicated to cybersecurity issues and new forms of online fraud was held in the Malachite Hall of the Faculty of Chemistry and Chemical Technology at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. The event was attended by representatives of the Cybercrime Department of the Almaty City Police Department.

During the meeting, participants discussed key topics such as cybersecurity in science and education, prevention of online threats and fraudulent schemes, methods of recording and analyzing cyber risks, as well as enhancing cooperation between the university and law enforcement agencies.

The main objective of the event was to raise the level of digital security awareness among university faculty and staff, to explain effective ways to protect against online fraud, and to promote safe behavior in the digital environment.

Cybersecurity experts provided real-life examples illustrating the importance of protecting personal data online, avoiding suspicious links and messages, and recognizing signs of phishing attacks.

Such informational initiatives contribute to enhancing the digital literacy of the university community, promoting safe online practices, and strengthening partnerships with law enforcement agencies in the field of cybersecurity.
