ROUND TABEL DISCUSSION WITHIN THE FRAMEWORK OF SDG 13: YOUTH CONTRIBUTION TO CLIMATE CHANGE

On November 5, 2025, M.N. Kaiyrbek, a lecturer in the Department of Russian Philology and World Literature,  with  the first-year students majoring in Ecology, held a roundtable discussion on  the topic: Sustainable Development Goal 13 — "Climate Action."

The event was moderated by M.N. Kaiyrbek, who emphasized the importance of environmental education and fostering a responsible attitude toward the environment in students.

During the roundtable, first-year students presented their reports and presentations on relevant topics:

• the impact of climate change on Kazakhstan's biodiversity;

• the role of renewable energy sources in reducing carbon emissions;

• ways for cities to adapt to climate change;

• the importance of environmental education in shaping a sustainable future.

Each presentation was followed by a lively discussion, during which students exchanged ideas, opinions, and proposals for raising public environmental awareness. Young participants noted that sustainable development begins with personal environmental awareness, responsible consumption, and careful use of natural resources.

The event was held in an atmosphere of lively dialogue and engagement. Such initiatives contribute to the development of environmental awareness among young people, the formation of critical thinking, and an understanding of personal responsibility for preserving the natural balance.
