SDG 15 "Preservation of land ecosystems"

On November 6, 2025,  the first-year students (Group 11) of the Faculty of Biology, under the guidance of senior lecturer A.S. Bazarbayeva, held an event on Sustainable Development Goal 15, “Life on Land.”

   The purpose of the event was to help the  first-year students understand the complex state of the environment and to develop awareness of the importance of taking urgent measures to preserve nature’s biological diversity.

   Future biologist-students prepared reports on the causes that have led to the critical condition of the local flora and fauna. The reports were discussed in the POPS formula format, which allowed students to present and defend their viewpoints. Clusters about animals listed in Kazakhstan’s Red Book clearly demonstrated the scale of environmental degradation in their homeland.

   This event sparked genuine student interest in biodiversity issues in Kazakhstan and inspired them to seek solutions for the current environmental challenges.
