Quality Day: Meeting with Students of the Department

In honor of Quality Day, the Department of Thermophysics and Technical Physics organized a meeting with students of the “Standardization and Certification” program. The event was led by Senior Lecturer Elmira Zulbukharova.

During the meeting, the key principles of quality culture and its importance in modern science, engineering, and industry were discussed in depth. Quality is fundamental to product safety, process efficiency, competitiveness, and sustainable development. Therefore, international and national quality standards are essential tools for implementing innovations, increasing energy efficiency, and promoting environmentally friendly solutions. These aspects are directly aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 9 “Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure” and SDG 12 “Responsible Consumption and Production.”

The speaker also emphasized why students choose this academic program. The curriculum combines technical disciplines, quality management, regulatory frameworks, and modern digital methods for conformity assessment. This comprehensive training prepares graduates for careers in certification bodies, testing laboratories, manufacturing companies, the energy sector, mechanical engineering, the food and pharmaceutical industries, and other fields where quality plays a decisive role.

Students were introduced to various career opportunities, including the development and implementation of quality management systems, work in international companies, certification centers, and consulting organizations. The profession contributes to fostering a culture of responsible production and safety, making it highly relevant to achieving global sustainable development goals.
