Visit to Plastex Qazaqstan 2025: New Insights for KazNU Students
Students of the Faculty of Physics and Technology of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University visited the international exhibition Plastex Qazaqstan 2025, held on November 14 in Pavilion No. 7 of the Atakent Exhibition Center. The event brought together leading companies in plastic manufacturing, waste recycling and modern industrial equipment.
The exhibition showcased technological installations and devices for working with polymers: plastic molding machines, industrial equipment, automation systems and 3D printers used in prototyping and production. Companies presented raw polymer materials, engineering plastics, innovative types of polymers and shared trends in production localization in Kazakhstan.
Environmental issues and circular economy solutions were in the spotlight. Experts explained which types of plastics can be recycled, how to sort waste properly and why certain materials cannot undergo reprocessing. Students received practical recommendations on sustainable habits and responsible waste management.
The business program included discussions on the development of Kazakhstan’s plastics industry, sustainable technological solutions, production localization and ESG approaches in Central Asia. Representatives of environmental initiatives shared their experience in recycling, public awareness and green technologies.
This visit allowed students to observe real industrial processes, explore innovations in the polymer sector and gain a deeper understanding of modern sustainability-related challenges.
The event supports several Sustainable Development Goals:
- SDG 9 “Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure” — exposure to modern technologies and innovation;
- SDG 12 “Responsible Consumption and Production” — learning about recycling and sustainable practices;
SDG 13 “Climate Action” — promoting solutions that reduce plastic waste and environmental impact.
