Educational and familiarization tours
On November 19, 2025, Japanese students studying at the Faculty of Pre-university Education of al-Farabi Kazakh National University, together with teachers of the Department of Language and General Education Training of Foreigners, T.Kurmanova and A.Akhmedova, made an educational and familiarization tour to the Museum of Almaty.
Educational and familiarization tours for foreign students of the Faculty of Pre-university Education include educational trips, hiking trails around the city with sightseeing, as well as visits to museums and exhibitions. They help foreign students to adapt faster to a new linguistic, social and cultural environment for them, get to know the cultural, historical and natural heritage of the country better, and also provide practical experience beyond classroom classes. All this corresponds to the 4th UN Sustainable Development Goal "Quality Education".
Education is one of the basic human rights that enhances human opportunities. It promotes intercultural dialogue and strengthens respect for cultural, religious and linguistic diversity, which are important factors in achieving social cohesion and justice. Education can accelerate the achievement of all the Sustainable Development Goals and, therefore, can become an important element of a strategy to achieve each of them. In accordance with task 4.7. "Education in the field of sustainable development and global citizenship" educational and familiarization tours provide all students with the knowledge necessary to contribute to the goals of the United Nations, including on sustainable development and a sustainable lifestyle, as well as awareness of the value of cultural diversity and the contribution of culture to sustainable development. Today, more and more international students want to study in other countries, including Kazakhstan. Accordingly, the impressions that foreigners receive about our country will be transmitted beyond its borders and have an impact on the image of the country as a whole.
