Partnership Between Education and Industry – a Key to Professional Success
Master's students of the educational programme ‘7M07101 – Petrochemistry’ at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University met with representatives of AcryliCon, a leading company in the field of chemical technologies and industrial coatings.
During the meeting, the company's specialists presented modern technologies and production processes, demonstrated the importance of practical projects and engineering calculations, and discussed employment and professional growth opportunities for graduates.
The partnership between KazNU and leading industrial enterprises is aimed at implementing the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and training personnel capable of solving modern technological and environmental challenges.
Activities within the programme contribute to the achievement of the following SDGs:
• SDG 4 – Quality education: Strengthening the practical training of students through interaction with industrial companies contributes to the formation of modern professional competencies and improves the quality of engineering education.
• SDG 8 – Decent work and economic growth: Collaboration with AcryliCon promotes youth employment, career guidance and opportunities for successful careers in the petrochemical industry.
• SDG 9 – Industry, innovation and infrastructure: Introducing master's students to modern technologies and innovative solutions strengthens the links between science and industry, promoting the adoption of sustainable technological approaches.
The main goal of such meetings is to strengthen the interaction between the educational process and real production, improve the professional skills of future chemical engineers and increase their competitiveness in the labour market.
The master's students noted that the meeting with representatives of AcryliCon allowed them to better understand the practical aspects of petrochemical production, see the real possibilities for applying the knowledge they have gained, and outline a trajectory for their professional development.
Al-Farabi Kazakh National University consistently implements a sustainable development strategy, integrating science, education and innovation.
Cooperation with industrial partners such as AcryliCon is an important step towards shaping an environmentally responsible, innovative and sustainable future for Kazakhstan.
