The main focus of scientific and innovative activity is international publications
In October 2025, the Department of «Linguistic and General Educational Training of Foreigners» at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University organized a scientific seminar dedicated to international publication databases aimed at enhancing the scientific potential of the teaching staff. During the seminar, we, as the Deputy Heads of the Department for Scientific and Innovative Work and International Relations, presented a report titled «Working with Scopus, ORCID, and Google Scholar to Enhance Scientific Competence». This report was prepared within the framework of the university’s Sustainable Development Goal (SDG 9) entitled «Key Issues of Science and Innovation: The Role of Language Training in Interdisciplinary Research».
Throughout the seminar, we delivered an informative presentation on how to work with international academic databases. This initiative was designed to improve the professional competence of the department’s teaching staff and to stimulate active participation of our scholars in the university’s scientific and innovative activities by publishing their articles in leading global platforms such as Scopus and Web of Science. These platforms are of great importance for familiarizing educators with advanced methodological models in international language teaching, which are essential for developing the linguistic training of foreign students.
Furthermore, they contribute to increasing publication activity among faculty members, expanding the visibility of scientific works, and fostering collaboration with the international academic community. The continued development of this work in the future will significantly strengthen the scientific reputation of the university and make a substantial contribution to the advancement of science in our country.
