Chinese KazNU Students Celebrated Republic Day in Kazakhstan.
The Central State Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan held a solemn event, "Kazakhstan – My Homeland, the Great Land", on the eve of a date important for the country—Republic Day (October 25). This holiday, restored to national status, symbolizes a historical step towards statehood, marked by the adoption of the Declaration on State Sovereignty on October 25, 1990.
Among the honored guests who became acquainted with the rich culture and history of Kazakhstan were 30 students from China studying at the Faculty of Pre-University Education at Al-Farabi KazNU. These young people arrived in Kazakhstan to study the Kazakh and Russian languages and are actively seeking to familiarize themselves with local traditions. Participation in the event dedicated to Republic Day was not just an informative excursion for them, but a vivid immersion into the atmosphere of national celebration and patriotism, serving as an excellent complement to their language practice.
The concert program, aimed at fostering respect for the native land and the Fatherland in the younger generation, made a lasting impression on the international students. The performance by the orchestra, masterfully playing works by outstanding Kazakh composers, was met with particular delight.
The students had the unique opportunity to become acquainted with the work of such masters as Saken Turysbekov—a composer, songwriter, and, what is especially valuable, a skilled «küishi» (performer and author of «küis»—traditional instrumental pieces). The virtuosic mastery of the dombyra and the profound emotionality inherent in Kazakh folk music conveyed the depth and beauty of the steppe melodies to the guests from China, revealing the soul of the Kazakh people.
According to the students themselves, they were genuinely captivated not only by the high level of the performers' skill but also by the warm, friendly atmosphere of the celebration. The event organized for Republic Day served as an excellent platform for strengthening cultural dialogue and mutual understanding, allowing foreign youth to better understand the history, traditions, and national treasures of Kazakhstan, which will undoubtedly aid them in their language studies.
Such events, like the celebration of Republic Day, underscore the importance of national identity and serve as a bridge between cultures, contributing to the popularization of Kazakh art and its outstanding figures on the international stage, and motivating international students to study Kazakhstan more deeply.
