Participation on behalf of Farabi University in the international symposium in Kırşehir
From November 20 to 23, 2025, Nazym Kairanbayeva, PhD of the Department of Turkish Studies and History of Eastern Countries at the Faculty of Oriental Studies of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, as well as a researcher at the Research Center “Written Monuments and Spiritual Heritage,” undertook an academic trip to the Republic of Türkiye, the city of Kırşehir. She participated in the international symposium “ Uluslararasi Anadolu’da Türk Yazi Dilinin Öncüleri Ve Âşik Paşa Sempozyumu,” held at Ahi Evran University, and delivered a scientific presentation entitled “From Kipchak Motifs of Central Asia to the Anatolian Oghuz Tradition: The Epic Tales of Hz. Ali”. This symposium, dedicated to the study of the medieval literary heritage of the Turkic world, the Oghuz cultural tradition in Anatolia, and the legacy of Aşık Paşa, is regarded as one of the leading international scientific platforms in the field of Turkic philology.
The event gathered leading scholars from more than 30 prestigious universities of Türkiye, including Prof. Dr. Gürer Gülsevin (Ege University), Prof. Dr. Ayşe İlker (Manisa Celal Bayar University), Prof. Dr. Ahmet Buran (Fırat University), Prof. Dr. Nadir İlhan (Ahi Evran University, Kırşehir), Prof. Dr. Mustafa Argunşah (Erciyes University), Prof. Dr. Erdoğan Boz (Eskişehir Osmangazi University), as well as PhD Ümit Kydyrbayeva (Adam Mickiewicz University, Poland), PhD Ceren Oğuz Kabadayı (Ahi Evran University), and other internationally recognized specialists in Turkology.
Overall, the academic trip was productive and successful. It is recommended to further develop joint projects with Turkish universities, strengthen Farabi University participation in international Turkological scientific platforms, and expand academic exchange programs for master's and doctoral students.
