Kassym-Jomart Kemeluly Tokayev emphasized: “Beautification and greening of our country is a matter of great national importance. This is not a one-time campaign but a nationwide responsibility. Such work must be carried out continuously. We must take care of Kazakhstan — this should become a way of life. All of Kazakhstan must be clean, and this depends on us and on the younger generation.”
In line with the political initiatives of the Head of State, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, aimed at enhancing environmental culture, renewing public consciousness, and engaging youth in environmental protection activities, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University organized a week of thematic ecological events.
On November 15, 2025, the following representatives participated actively in the initiative: Dean of the Higher School of Economics and Business Zh.Zh. Yermekova, Head of the “Finance and Accounting” Department R.B. Sartova, Senior Curator of the “Finance and Accounting” Department A.Zh. Kukiev, first-year advisors G.I. Supugalieva, O.Yu. Kogut, T.B. Zhumadilova, G.N. Appakova, as well as first-year students of the “Finance” and “Accounting and Audit” educational programs.
The “Finance and Accounting” Department consistently develops and supports the “Green Campus” principle. At the KazNU campus, educational buildings, dormitories, and surrounding areas were cleaned. As a long-standing tradition, tree planting, expansion of flower beds, maintenance of green zones, and promoting the culture of waste sorting are carried out every spring and autumn. The faculty members and students of the department actively and wholeheartedly participate in these meaningful ecological initiatives.
