Visit of the Delegation of Harbin Engineering University to the Faculty of Physics and Technology of Al-Farabi KazNU. SDG 4 and SDG 7
On November 25, 2025, the Faculty of Physics and Technology of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University hosted a working meeting with the delegation of Harbin Engineering University (HEU, PRC). The visit was organized within the official program of the HEU delegation to KazNU and marked an important step toward strengthening international scientific and educational cooperation.
The HEU delegation included: – Tang Sichao, Dean of the Institute of Nuclear Science and Technology; – Ding Xin, Deputy Director of the Office of International Cooperation; – Zhou Yanmin, Assistant to the Dean; – Wang Longcun, Associate Professor of the Institute of Nuclear Science and Technology.
During the meeting, the parties discussed prospects for collaboration in the following areas: – nuclear engineering and nuclear energy; – training of specialists for high-tech industries; – development of joint educational programs; – academic mobility of students and faculty; – participation in international scientific projects and research consortia.
Special attention was given to the development of joint bachelor’s and master’s programs in Nuclear Engineering, the preparation of specialists for Kazakhstan’s future nuclear energy infrastructure, and the implementation of joint research projects based on the faculty’s laboratories.

The visit of the Harbin Engineering University delegation became an important milestone in advancing scientific and educational cooperation between the two universities. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to deepening joint initiatives aimed at training highly qualified engineers and promoting research aligned with global trends and the Sustainable Development Goals.
