SDG 9 “Industrialization, innovation and infrastructure”

On November 26, 2025, the senior lecturers of the Department of Foreign languages Akylova G.S., Gaiipova G.A., Orazbayeva A.S. together with the 1st year students of the Faculty of Information Technologies, held an event in the form of debates in English on the topic “The Internet in the 21st Century: A Benefit and Threat to Society” within the framework of the Sustainable Development Goals at the international level.

Foreign students of English groups of the Faculty of Information Technologies were invited as foreign guests.

The students were divided into three groups. The first and second groups spoke on the presented topics, expressing the positive and negative sides of the Internet. The third group asked their questions and evaluated the speech of both groups, and at the end of the event gave an objective assessment of the participants’ arguments.

Students actively participated in the discussion, expressing their thoughts. The current issues within the theme of the debate were discussed and summarized.

At the end of the event, the students were awarded certificates for their active participation.
