A Lecture at the Intersection of Science and Geopolitics: International Developments Discussed at the Department of Chinese Studies

On November 26, 2025, Professor of the Department of Chinese Studies, Doctor of Historical Sciences Nabizhan Mukhametkhanuly, held a scientific seminar for young scholars of the department and delivered a lecture on the topic “The International Political Situation: the ‘New Cold War’ and Trends in the Development of China–Kazakhstan Relations.”

During the seminar, the professor addressed key trends in the system of international relations, explained the concept of the “new Cold War,” and provided a comprehensive analysis of the current global geopolitical situation. The development of political and economic ties between China and Kazakhstan was also discussed in detail. Emphasizing the growing intensity of military competition among states, Professor Mukhametkhanuly conducted an in-depth analysis of Kazakhstan’s strengths and vulnerabilities.

At the end of the lecture, participants asked questions, and young scholars shared their views. The seminar became an important academic platform for discussing pressing global issues.
