A book fair by Qasymkitap Publishing House was held at the Faculty of Philology of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University within the framework of SDG 4: Quality education. It was organized by the Department of Kazakh Literature and Literary Theory. The main aim of the event was to promote classical works of Kazakh and world literature among university students, to enhance reading culture, and to increase the spiritual and cognitive interest of young people.
During the fair, it was observed that the works of prominent Kazakh prose writers — D. Isabekov, M. Magauin, and T. Abdikov — were in particularly high demand among students. The historical and informative content, socio-psychological themes, and philosophical depth of these works attracted young readers with their expressiveness and relevance.
Significant interest was also shown in the works of world literature classics — L. Tolstoy, I. Turgenev, and V. Hugo. The writings of these authors, which reflect profound reflections on human nature, society, and moral values, contribute to the formation of students’ literary and aesthetic taste.
Overall, the fair demonstrated the growing interest of today’s students in classical literature and was recognized as an important event in the spiritual and cultural development of the university’s learners.
