KazNU Students’ Academic Mobility: Study Experience at ITMO University and Contribution to the SDGs

27 november, 2025

Five students from the Department of Thermophysics and Technical Physics are currently studying at ITMO University (Saint Petersburg) within the framework of the academic mobility program. This exchange strengthens academic cooperation, expands students’ research competencies, and provides opportunities to gain experience with advanced technologies in engineering and natural sciences.

Academic mobility directly contributes to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, in particular:

SDG 4 “Quality Education” — by providing access to modern educational resources and inter-university practices;
SDG 9 “Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure” — through students’ involvement in innovative projects and engineering solutions;
SDG 17 “Partnerships for the Goals” — by fostering international academic collaboration.

Such experience enhances the competitiveness of future specialists and strengthens the potential for inter-university cooperation.
