A public speaking contest was held at the Department of Far East as part of Korea Week

On November 27, at the Department of Far East, Korean Studies Division, at the Faculty of Oriental Studies of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University hosted a public speaking contest (말하기 대회) for 1st- to 3rd-year students.

The event aimed to enhance students’ Korean-language speaking proficiency, improve their public speaking skills, and support their professional and creative development.

Participants delivered prepared speeches on topics of their choice. The judging panel evaluated speech structure, linguistic accuracy, delivery style, pacing and intonation, as well as overall presentation skills.

The contest provided Korean Studies students with an important opportunity to strengthen their language competencies and gain practical experience.

At the conclusion of the event, winners and distinguished participants received commemorative gifts.
