The Faculty of Journalism hosted a national forum organized jointly with employers.
SDG-17 On November 26, 2025, at 11:00, the Faculty of Journalism at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University hosted a national forum organized jointly with employers. At the Faculty of Journalism, the forum held for the first time was initiated by the Dean, PhD in Philology, Kanat Äuesbay. The event, held within the framework of the Year of Blue-Collar Professions, focused on the topic: “Media Industry and Education Partnership: Issues of Training Specialists.”
The forum created new opportunities for the professional growth of young journalists and aimed to elevate cooperation between the university and employers to a new level. As part of the forum, a “Career Fair” was held, where 4th-year students prepared resumes and video stories, presenting a “news package” to potential employers. The timely edited materials drew significant attention from media representatives. Students, who made every effort to ensure the high-level organization of this first-ever forum, had the chance to directly communicate with leading media professionals and received concrete internship and job offers.
During the forum, participants thoroughly discussed new trends in the journalism labor market, strengthening partnerships between the university and media organizations, employment opportunities for graduates, and the requirements for new media skills. The dean of the faculty, moderator Kanat Auesbaiuly, awarded letters of appreciation to media leaders, and at the end, the parties addressed issues of updating and expanding academic programs and signed several memorandums. Being the first in the faculty’s history, this forum will now be held annually!
