The delegation of China’s Wenhui Daily held a meeting with the Faculty of Journalism.

A delegation from Wenhui Daily, one of China’s most reputable media outlets, arrived in Almaty on an official visit. As part of the visit, the delegation held a meeting with the Faculty of Journalism at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.

Wenhui Daily is one of China’s oldest and most renowned newspapers and is part of the Shanghai United Media Group. The publication actively participates in cultural and humanitarian projects within the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative.

The delegation was led by Mr. Miao Kegou, Secretary of the Party Committee and Editor-in-Chief of Wenhui Daily. The delegation also included:

• Wu Maolin – Director of the Office

• Gu Yiqiong – Director of the Social and Political News Department

• Lu Mei – Director of the Literary Supplement

• Jin Wei – Editor-in-Chief of the Important News Department

During the meeting, the parties discussed potential areas of cooperation in media and communications, including the development of journalism education, joint research projects, student and faculty exchanges, as well as cultural and academic events. The Faculty of Journalism of KazNU supported the organization and hosting of the delegation.

The meeting became an important step in enhancing media cooperation between Kazakhstan and China and in expanding opportunities for journalism education and research collaboration.
