The Role of Cryptology in Achieving the Sustainable Development Goals
On November 17, 2025, a thematic discussion dedicated to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) was held with students majoring in Cryptology. The purpose of the event was to enhance students’ awareness of global development priorities and to emphasize the role of young specialists in achieving these goals.

During the meeting, particular attention was given to the topics of climate action, peace, justice and strong institutions, as well as gender equality. The students actively discussed the consequences of climate change and the importance of environmental responsibility; they also reflected on the significance of stable state institutions, transparency, protection of citizens’ rights, and the development of legal culture. The topic of gender equality sparked genuine interest, highlighting the need for equal opportunities in education, science, and the field of information technologies.
Participants also noted the contribution that digital technologies and cryptology can make toward achieving these goals: ensuring data protection, increasing transparency, supporting environmental monitoring, and helping build a fair and secure society.
The discussion took place in an engaging and dynamic atmosphere. Students expressed their opinions, shared examples, and analyzed real-life situations related to their future professional activities. The event contributed to the development of critical thinking, strengthened social responsibility, and helped students understand that each specialist can influence the sustainable development of society.
