The deputy akim of the city got acquainted with the scientific potential of KazNU
Deputy Akim of Almaty Abzal Nukenov visited Al-Farabi Kazakh National University and got acquainted with its scientific potential.
The Deputy akim was introduced to the Farabi Hub innovation center, where high-tech projects and innovative developments are demonstrated. Today, the hub maintains close cooperation with major investment companies, research institutes and leading foreign universities. Scientific research in various fields is carried out in laboratories equipped with modern equipment, and new technologies are being created. The main goal of the center is to accelerate the introduction of scientific ideas and developments of KazNU scientists into the economy and strengthen the process of commercialization of innovations.

Next, Abzal Nukenov visited the Center for Industrial Robotics and Engineering Competencies, where German KUKA robots are installed. Today, KazNU, actively developing robotics, is one of the leading scientific centers in Kazakhstan. The university conducts research aimed at creating intelligent systems, unmanned aerial vehicles and automated production solutions.

The Deputy Akim also visited the International Institute of Digital Technologies and Robotics and the Robotics Center. Here, students learn how to work with production processes in a digital environment and master the skills of interacting with complex automated systems. The total area of the center is 600 square meters. The five innovative platforms are complexes based on modern production technologies and artificial intelligence, designed to work with intelligent robots.

During the visit, the guest was introduced to the work of a supercomputer installed at the university. This high-tech system, which is one of the most powerful in Central Asia, helps to increase Kazakhstan's competitiveness on the global stage and develop domestic infrastructure. The supercomputer also provides extensive training opportunities for IT and artificial intelligence specialists. Its performance is 2,000 teraflops, and its architecture includes more than 400 Intel Xeon 6330N server processors.

In addition, Abzal Nukenov visited the Faculty of Geography and Environmental Management, where he got acquainted with the results of scientific projects of KazNU aimed at protecting the environment, increasing soil fertility, preventing drought and improving water quality.
