‘My Country – My Pride’: A Generational Challenge Dedicated to Independence

On 4 December 2025, senior lecturers from the Department of Foreign Languages Myrzakhmet M. Zh, Makhmetova D.M., Lugovskaya E.I., Nesipbaeva Z.S., Isabayeva B.K., Gumarova Sh.B., together with the first-year students from the Faculty of Chemistry and Chemical Technology and the Faculty of Physics and Technology, held an event within the framework of of SDG 4: Quality Education. Students from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Mongolia, and students studying at foreign universities in China took part in this event.

The traditional challenge for Kazakhstani students, ‘My Country – My Pride,’ took on special significance this year, as it coincided with the Republic of Kazakhstan's Independence Day. This initiative, which originated at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, is gaining national and international recognition.

The essence of the challenge: Independence is our shared pride!

This project is not just a photo or video. It is an opportunity to share the pride for independence in the hearts of every young Kazakhstani.

This year, the people of Kazakhstan are celebrating the 34th anniversary of independence. With the attainment of independence, new pages have been opened in the history of the young country as a respected member of the world community.

Independence is the golden pillar of our state, the solid foundation of our independence. For the Kazakh people, with their rich history and deep roots, there is no greater value. We consider it our most precious treasure, our most noble trust. Our task is to pass on a perfect and strong Kazakhstan to the next generation!

Thanks to this challenge:

Strengthening the spirit of patriotism — young people promote the history, culture, and achievements of their country;

International dialogue — intercultural exchange, attracting foreign students;

Modern format — challenges are a popular type of content on social media among today's youth.

Youth community — brings together students from different universities and countries;

By reaching out to foreign students, they raise awareness of Kazakhstan internationally and promote our country's image.

Such initiatives demonstrate young people's active civic stance and contribute to the preservation of national identity. The theme of the challenge, ‘My country is my pride,’ was very well chosen, as it expresses a sense of love and respect for the homeland.

Independence is not only a historical event, but also a symbol of pride and heroism in the heart of every Kazakhstani. This day strengthens our unity, stability, and faith in the future.
