Brief description of the event

On October 24, 2025, at the initiative of several faculty members of the Biotechnology Department of Al-Farabi KazNU, an event titled ‘Study of Water and Its Microbiological Indicators’ was organized for third-year students of the Microbiology specialty.

Water environment safety is directly linked to its microbial composition, which serves as a comprehensive indicator reflecting the presence of fecal contamination, the overall level of saprophytic microorganisms, as well as potential risks to public health and ecosystems. Continuous microbiological monitoring of water quality is an essential component of the system ensuring sanitary and epidemiological well-being of the population and the preservation of aquatic ecosystems. Modern analytical methods allow for the rapid detection of potential hazards and the timely implementation of corrective measures. Additionally, the event addressed the pathways of water contamination, types of pollutant microorganisms, and the fundamental methodologies used in microbiological research.
