Brief description of the event

On November 21, 2025, with the involvement of several faculty members from the Department of Biotechnology of Al-Farabi KazNU, an event titled “Biotechnology of Biologically Active Supplements” was organized for third-year students majoring in Biotechnology.

During the event, students listened to brief presentations by professors and instructors of the Department of Biotechnology.

Purpose: to present to students the concept of biologically active substances (BAS), scientific directions based on biological objects, and their applications in various fields of biotechnology.

The role of biotechnology in the modern world was discussed. The characteristics and scientific and industrial relevance of biologically active substances derived from plants, microalgae, and microorganisms were considered. Modern biotechnological equipment and methods, scientific perspectives on the biotechnological foundations of this process, and the combination of elements in obtaining new scientific and innovative materials were examined.
