KazNU contributes to strengthening the scientific potential of Almaty

Deputy Akim of the city Abzal Nukenov met with the heads of the city's universities in Almaty. The issues of improving the quality of education, scientific research and active participation of young people in the social, innovative and environmental life of the metropolis were discussed.

 

Deputy Chairman of the Board, First Vice-Rector Erkin Duisenov took part in the event on behalf of AlFarabi Kazakh National University.

Almaty is the largest educational center in the country: 35 universities operate here, where more than 211 thousand students study, including over 131 thousand from other regions, and more than 14 thousand teachers form a significant intellectual potential of the city.

"Universities are strategic partners that determine the intellectual future of Almaty. The quality of education affects the competitiveness of young people, and the values formed affect the sustainability of society and its innovative potential",- said Abzal Nukenov.

Special attention at the meeting was paid to the support of student initiatives, volunteerism and environmental projects such as "Taza Kazakhstan". The work of the Council on Science and Technology under the Mayor of the city, which unites research teams for the development of science and technology, was also discussed.

Following the meeting, a working group was established to work out new projects and strengthen the scientific potential of Almaty, and it is also planned to expand cooperation between universities and city structures.
