International Online Conference on “Bulgaria and Central Asia”
04 December 2025. As part of the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goal “Partnerships for Sustainable Development,” the project team of “Bulgaria and Central Asia” held the final events of the series dedicated to intercultural academic exchange between Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, and Bulgaria. This initiative continues the previous project, “Bulgaria and Central Asia: Dialogue of Cultures in the Digital Environment.”
The project was carried out with the support of the Student Council of Sofia University, the Faculty of Classical and Modern Philology, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University and the Al-Farabi Scientific, Educational and Cultural Center, Bukhara State University, and Makhtumkuli Turkmen State University.
Over the past two years, members of the “Mädeniet KZ” club of the Department of Religious Studies and Cultural Studies, together with 3rd- and 4th-year cultural studies students, conducted two ethnocultural field practices and four online webinars. These practices took place in Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan. The impressions, observations, experiences, and insights gained during these activities were presented in a film prepared by students of Sofia University. The film was shown at the final event of the project.
