The session focused on SDG 2 – Zero Hunger. Curator B.A. Khaniyev opened the meeting by explaining the importance of the UN SDGs and presenting statistics on global hunger. Students delivered three presentations:
-
Global causes of hunger (SDG 2): climate change, natural disasters, poverty, armed conflicts.
-
Food security in Kazakhstan (SDG 2): current agricultural conditions and national programs.
-
Sustainable agriculture (SDG 2): the role of eco-friendly food production.
After watching the “Zero Hunger” video, students discussed food waste reduction, fair distribution, charity, and sustainable development projects in rural areas.
In conclusion, the group decided to establish an information corner about hunger issues and plan a charity initiative under the “Week of Good Deeds”. Students received an assignment to write a short essay on the topic.
