On October 6, 2025, an open educational session titled “Climate Action: Combating Climate Change” was held at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Faculty of Physics and Technology. The session was conducted for 4th-year students of the “Industrial Electronics and Control Systems” program by lecturer Serzhan Momynov from the Department of Electronics and Astrophysics.

The objective of the class was to provide a comprehensive understanding of climate change, its causes, and its global consequences—such as global warming, glacier melting, unstable weather patterns, and biodiversity loss. Students examined real-world examples of how climate change impacts human health, agriculture, water resources, and economic systems.

Also highlighted were individual measures to reduce climate impact: conserving energy, minimizing waste, reducing plastic use, and adopting environmentally responsible behavior. The role of governmental and societal environmental policies, as well as youth engagement in climate action, was emphasized.

By the end of the lesson, students were encouraged to adopt sustainable habits, take environmental responsibility seriously, and apply eco-friendly principles in their future professional activities.
SDGs: Goal 13 — Climate Action; Goal 4 — Quality Education.
