The law is the foundation of society!

On 21 November, an educational event entitled ‘The law is the foundation of society’ was held for first-year students majoring in geodesy and cartography.

The purpose of the event was to explain to students the role and importance of law in society, to develop a culture of law and legal literacy, to foster respect for the law, to teach students to understand their rights and responsibilities, and to encourage them to observe public order and prevent offences.

The law is the main pillar of the state and the guarantor of stable and fair development of society. The main task of the law is to protect the rights and freedoms of every citizen and to ensure public order and harmony. In a society where the law is respected, peace, security and justice reign.

The main principle enshrined in the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan is:

‘The most valuable asset of the Republic of Kazakhstan is its people, their lives, rights and freedoms.’

Legal knowledge is extremely important. Ignorance of the law does not exempt one from responsibility. In addition, knowledge of the law allows one to:

- defend one's rights in disputed situations;

- avoid fraud and offences;

- form the image of a cultured and educated member of society.

The law is the foundation of the stability and development of the state. A citizen who respects the law is a responsible citizen. If everyone knows their rights and conscientiously fulfils their duties, the future of our country will be bright and sustainable.
