On December 8, 2025, the 2nd-year students of the Turkology major studying at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University actively participated in the cognitive event "Dawn of Freedom," dedicated to Independence Day. The event was organized by the group's advisor, Lecturer of the Department of Turkology and Theory of Language, Ashirkulov K.B.
The main goal of the event was to deepen students' knowledge about the Independence of Kazakhstan, the December Events, and national values, as well as to strengthen their patriotic feelings.
During the evening, students became familiar with important information regarding the history and significance of December 16 – Independence Day. Furthermore, documentary video materials about the December Events and Kazakhstan's path to sovereignty were shown. These materials awakened the historical consciousness of the youth and called for respect for the heroism of the older generations who fought for the independence of our country.
The most engaging part of the event was the intellectual game organized on the Kahoot! platform. During the game, students tested their knowledge by answering questions about the history, culture of Kazakhstan, and the country's achievements during the years of Independence. The game boosted competitiveness among the youth and provided an opportunity to grasp the significance of the holiday through a playful format.
Such events contribute greatly to enhancing students' historical literacy, shaping their civic stance, and strengthening the national spirit.
