National holidays of Kazakhstan in educational work: adaptation of students to the cultural environment
The whole country is preparing for the annual celebration of Kazakhstan's Independence Day.
Thematic curatorial hours "Independence Day of Kazakhstan - the national holiday of the Republic of Kazakhstan" were held in groups with foreign students at the Al–Farabi Kazakh National University at the Department of Language and General Education Training of Foreigners of the Faculty of Pre-university Education.
During a series of curatorial hours, teachers told students from different countries that the Independence Day of Kazakhstan dates back to December 16, 1991. It was on this day that the state declared sovereignty. At the same time, a law was passed and Kazakhstan's independence was officially proclaimed. From this day on, the holiday is celebrated on December 16-17 and has the status of a state holiday.
Today, Kazakhstan is an independent, democratic, legal, secular and, in its own way, unique state. According to the Bureau of National Statistics, representatives of more than 124 nationalities live in peace and harmony in the country. Kazakh is the official language, and Russian has the status of the official language of interethnic communication.
The national flag and coat of arms of the Republic of Kazakhstan were approved six months after the declaration of independence, in June 1992. In the same year, the first ingot of gold mined in Kazakhstan was cast, which marked the beginning of the accumulation of its own gold reserves. The next step for an independent country was the introduction of its own currency, the tenge. It entered circulation on November 15, 1993. Tenge has become the only legal tender in the country. Today, Kazakhstan has its own banknote factory and mint. The design of the Kazakh currency has been repeatedly recognized as the best in international competitions.
The Republic of Kazakhstan is a young independent state. But in this short period of time, significant large-scale government transformations have taken place in the country. During this time, a bicameral Parliament was established, a judicial system was created, a new capital was announced, the national Armed Forces, the Republican Guard, the border troops, and the navy appeared.
The economic system has been radically transformed into a market economy capable of integrating into the global economic system. The international policy of the state has also changed. The main objective of this policy is to achieve international guarantees of the country's sovereignty and independence.
Kazakhstan is a full and active member of the United Nations, strengthens cooperation with the most influential international organizations such as the European Union, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the International Monetary Fund, the Red Cross, etc.
Since gaining independence, Kazakhstan has become a member of the Commonwealth of Independent States, the Economic Cooperation Organization, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, and the Eurasian Economic Union.
This holiday is very much loved by Kazakhstanis. Mass celebrations are held everywhere on Independence Day of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Fireworks and fireworks in honor of independence have become traditional.
International students are interested in and need the information they receive during the thematic curatorial hours. This gives them the opportunity to get information about the country where they study, adapt to life and traditions, and feel like a part of our independent country, where people of different nationalities live side by side in respect for each other.
