Military-Patriotic Event "My Kazakhstan!" by the Military Department of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University at the "Arystan" Specialized Lyceum

On December 9, 2025, students from the military department visited the "Arystan" Specialized Lyceum, one of the best specialized secondary educational institutions in our country, to conduct a lecture series titled "My Kazakhstan!" to commemorate the Independence Day of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

At the beginning of the lecture series, the lyceum students were shown a video presentation about the history and development of our country's leading higher educational institution – Al-Farabi Kazakh National University and the university's military department.

The interactive presentation on the main stages of Kazakhstan's statehood and independence covered key historical events, from the formation of the Kazakh Khanate to the present day.

During the historical quiz, two teams of lyceum students from the 10th and 11th grades competed in their knowledge of the history of Kazakhstan and the Armed Forces of our country. Both teams of students demonstrated deep knowledge of history and competed on equal terms. Colonel (res.) Oleg Azhimov, Head of the Military Department, presented memorable gifts – books about the history of Kazakhstan and Kazakhstani heroes – to all participants of the historical quiz.

The second part of the lecture series, dedicated to the Hero of the Soviet Union – Aliya Moldagulova, whose 100th anniversary is celebrated this year, left no one indifferent. The lyceum students were shown a film about the biography, combat path, and feat of Aliya Moldagulova, the legendary daughter of the Kazakh people. Female students of the military department, dressed in the uniform of soldiers from the Great Patriotic War era, presented a theatrical composition titled "A Letter to Mother..."

The concluding stage of the event was a musical flashmob. Students of the military department performed a bright and inspiring musical composition "Uly Dala!" (Great Steppe!). All participants joined in the energetic "Kara Zhorga" dance, which symbolizes the vital force, the rhythm of the steppe, and the free spirit of our people. The final part of the musical flashmob was the performance of the popular song "Zdrastvuy Stolitsa!" (Hello Capital!) by the students and lyceum students.

At the end of the event, Lieutenant General (Ret.) Murat Zhalelevich Maikeyev, Head of the "Arystan" Specialized Lyceum, expressed his gratitude to the staff of the Military Department of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University for the initiative to hold the lecture series, their active military-patriotic work, and thanked the students for an interesting and informative event. "The role and significance of patriotic work with youth is currently an important condition for raising true patriots of independent Kazakhstan!" emphasized Lieutenant General (Ret.) Murat Maikeyev.

Such events have become traditional within the framework of the signed Memorandum of Cooperation between the Military Department of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University and the "Arystan" Specialized Lyceum.
