Xinjiang Institute of Ecology and Geography Chinese Academy of Sciences «ADMISSION BRIEFING FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS»

On December 9, 2025, at the Kazakhstan–China Joint Laboratory of Remote Sensing Technologies and Their Applications of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, representatives of the Xinjiang Institute of Ecology and Geography of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (XIEG, CAS) held an informational seminar dedicated to international academic opportunities. The event was aimed at young researchers, master’s students, and doctoral candidates.

The Chinese leadership of the laboratory organized this seminar with the purpose of strengthening bilateral scientific cooperation, engaging young researchers in scientific activities, and training qualified specialists in the field of remote sensing. The initiative made a significant contribution to expanding strategic ties between KazNU and the Chinese Academy of Sciences, as well as to developing joint research initiatives.

During the seminar, professors from the institute delivered an in-depth presentation on the structure of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, its key scientific directions, and its international research potential. Participants also received comprehensive information on international scholarship programs such as CAS–ANSO, CSC, and UCAS, along with admission requirements for PhD and postdoctoral studies and details of the application process.

The seminar program included three main sections:

• Scientific activities of the Xinjiang Institute of Ecology and Geography;
• International scholarship opportunities;
• Guidelines for applying to academic and research programs for 2026.
