The Faculty of Journalism of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University witnessed a special cultural event. The Department of Printing-Editing and Design Art organized an art poster exhibition called “Spirit of Independence” in honor of the important national holiday — Independence Day. This exhibition was not just an event to showcase students’ creative abilities, but also a cultural platform aimed at expressing respect for national values and patriotic feelings.

Students from the “Design” and “Media Design” programs of the Department of Printing-Editing and Design Art at the Faculty of Journalism took part in the exhibition. With sincerity and heartfelt emotion, they expressed their love for independence and their country through each poster. The students’ works immediately captivated the audience. The posters demonstrated a distinctive blend of motifs drawn from the history of the Kazakh people with contemporary artistic styles. Viewers could sense the lessons of the past, the reality of the present, and hope for the future in every piece.

About forty posters were displayed at the exhibition. Each work possessed its own philosophy and deep meaning. Some posters depicted historical figures and significant events, while others artistically conveyed the essence of independence through modern design elements. By combining national spirit with contemporary aesthetics, the students infused each piece with unique ideas and emotions. The fusion of symbolic imagery from history and modern artistic expression gave the exhibition a special charm and prompted visitors to reflect deeply.

The Dean of the Faculty of Journalism, Kanat Auesbay, presented special certificates of appreciation to the participating students. He highly praised their creative skills and love for their country, highlighting their dedication and hard work.

The exhibition’s curator, renowned professor Zhandarbek Beristenov, shared his thoughts with heartfelt enthusiasm:

This event is not only about showcasing the students’ abilities, but also serves as an important cultural platform that reveals their thinking, perspectives, and patriotic spirit.”

According to Professor Beristenov, one of the educational goals of the Faculty of Journalism is to develop students into individuals who can think beyond conventional boundaries. He emphasized that the exhibition was not just meant to showcase students’ skills, but also to instill a sense of love for independence and national pride in the younger generation.
