A round table on “Causes and Consequences of Global Warming” was held within the framework of SDG 13: “Taking Urgent Action to Combat Climate Change and Its Impacts”
On November 17, the Department of Botany and Agroecology held a round-table discussion within the framework of SDG 13 on the topic “Causes and Consequences of Global Warming,” with the participation of students from group BB 23-04 of the educational program “6B05102 – Biology,” under the guidance of curator-adviser and associate researcher Akmaral Nurmahanova. During the event, the main anthropogenic and natural factors of global warming, the mechanisms of change within the climate system, the increase in greenhouse gas concentrations in the atmosphere, and their impact on the biosphere were comprehensively discussed. Based on scientific data, the potential consequences of rising global temperatures for ecosystem stability, biodiversity, hydroclimatic regimes, and human health were also examined. The students shared their views and took part in a scientific discussion on climate change modeling, monitoring methods, and strategies for its prevention.
