Kazakhstani Sovereignty in the Focus of International Students
On December 12, 2025, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University hosted a lecture by Yerkin Yessimovich Duisenov, Deputy Chairman of the Board – First Vice-Rector, entitled “Sovereignty as the Foundation of the Independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan.” The lecture was organized for American students of the Flagship Program in the lead-up to Kazakhstan’s Independence Day.

The lecture addressed the historical and political foundations of Kazakhstan’s independence, the development of state institutions, and contemporary reforms aimed at strengthening the sustainability and effectiveness of governance (SDG 16 “Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions”).
Special attention was also given to the role of education in fostering civic responsibility, global thinking, and intercultural communication. The lecture contributed to expanding educational opportunities for international students (SDG 4 “Quality Education”).
The participation of students from the United States created an atmosphere of open international dialogue, enabling the exchange of perspectives on contemporary socio-political processes and strengthening academic cooperation (SDG 17 “Partnerships for the Goals”).
KazNU continues to expand cooperation with international educational programs, supporting global initiatives and creating platforms for the exchange of knowledge and experience.
