A step toward obtaining a PhD degree. Scientific seminar of PhD candidates N. Khamit and N. Atalykova

On December 12, 2025, a scientific seminar was held within the Department of Cartography and Geoinformatics at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. This day marked an important and responsible milestone for young researchers — Nurzhan Yerzhanuly Khamit and Nazym Sultangaliyevna Atalykova.

They were admitted to the preliminary defense of their dissertations for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) under the educational program “6D07302 — Geoinformatics.”

During the seminar, the doctoral candidates comprehensively and rigorously presented the fundamental principles and scientific novelty of their research, the objectives and tasks, the databases employed, and the practical and industrial outcomes obtained. Their presentations demonstrated a high level of scientific preparation.

The submitted dissertation projects are distinguished by their relevance, scientific novelty, and practical significance, which received positive evaluations from the experts. The candidates provided detailed responses to all questions raised by the participants and took into account the recommendations aimed at further improving their research.
