Leadership Lecture on the Chauvet Cave

Within the framework of Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) No. 4 — “Quality Education” аt the Department of Archaeology, Ethnology and Museology of the Faculty of History at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, a leadership lecture titled “The Chauvet Cave in France: a remarkable site that allows the study of humans and predators from about 35,000 years ago” was organized. Students from various academic programs of the faculty attended the event and listened to the lecture with great interest. The lecture was delivered by Philippe Fosse, a member of the Chauvet–Pont d'Arc research team. He provided extensive information about the discovery of the cave, the life of people who lived 35,000 years ago, depictions of Paleolithic predators, and the scientific methods used to study the site. Participants gained valuable insights into the importance of the Chauvet Cave in archaeology and anthropology, as well as current approaches to its preservation and ongoing research.
