A Series of Lectures on Financial Literacy Launched at Al-Farabi KazNU for the Almaty City Development Center

On December 12, 2025, a series of lectures entitled “Fundamentals of Financial Literacy” was launched for the Almaty City Development Center. The lectures are delivered by faculty members of the Department of Finance and Accounting of the Higher School of Economics and Business at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.

The first lecture was conducted by G.Y.Kasenova, Candidate of Economic Sciences and Senior Lecturer of the Department of Finance and Accounting. The lecture focused on “Personal Finance” and highlighted the importance and role of enhancing financial literacy among the population. Various approaches to personal budget management were discussed, along with the main types of financial fraud and effective methods of protection against them.

The lecture generated strong interest among the participants. The audience actively engaged in discussion and raised numerous relevant and thought-provoking questions. Overall, the topic proved to be highly engaging and demonstrated significant practical relevance.
