Scientific Seminar on “Key Provisions and Procedures of Doctoral Studies” within SDG 4 “Quality Education”

On 2 December 2025, the Faculty of Biology and Biotechnology of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University hosted a scientific seminar for 1st–3rd year doctoral students of all specialties entitled “Key Provisions and Procedures of Doctoral Studies.” The event was organized by the doctoral students’ curator-advisor of the Department of Botany and Agroecology, Senior Lecturer K.T. Abidkulova.

The keynote speaker was L.A. Kuánova, PhD, Head of the Office for Training and Attestation of Research Personnel at KazNU. The seminar was held within the framework of implementing SDG 4 “Quality Education.”

During the seminar, doctoral students were introduced to the regulatory documents governing doctoral training, as well as the requirements for organizing the educational process, attestation procedures, and the defense of doctoral dissertations. Particular attention was paid to the rules for awarding academic degrees, the procedures for approving and re-approving academic supervisors, and publication requirements in national and international peer-reviewed journals indexed in Scopus and Web of Science.
