“My Independent Homeland – Kazakhstan”
In today’s world, shaped by a global flow of information and the convergence of diverse cultures, the most important values that define our national spirit and Kazakh identity are undoubtedly our history, traditions, and spiritual heritage. Since gaining independence, Kazakhstan has placed great emphasis on strengthening its native culture, language, and national identity. Independence is not only the realization of our people's centuries-old dream but also a sacred day that revives national consciousness and unites society.
In this regard, on December 10, an open educational session titled “Тәуелсіз елім – Қазақстан” (“My Independent Homeland – Kazakhstan”) was held at the Faculty of Biology and Biotechnology of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University for first-year students of the Biotechnology program. The event was organized by the group advisor N.R. Akmukhanova. The purpose of the session was to explain the historical significance of Independence Day, promote patriotic values, and familiarize students with key stages in the country’s development.
During the event, students learned about Kazakhstan’s political, economic, and cultural achievements over the years of independence, as well as important historical facts related to Independence Day. They presented informative reports on the meaning of state symbols, the early political steps of the independent nation, and the formation of the new state, followed by active discussions. A video dedicated to the history of independence was also shown, and an interactive Q&A session was organized.
At the end of the session, advisor N.R. Akmukhanova highlighted the importance of independence for the younger generation:
“Independence is our most sacred value. Respecting, preserving, and strengthening it is the duty of every citizen. Today’s youth must be educated, active, and responsible to contribute to the development of our country. Knowing history is the foundation for choosing the right path for the future,” she noted, concluding the event.
The open session “Тәуелсіз елім – Қазақстан” was conducted at a high level, enhancing students’ patriotic spirit and fostering interest in the history of the nation.
The future is in the hands of youth. Honoring our independence and preserving our national values is the vital mission of today’s generation.
